I picked up a Winchester Model 1894 that was manufactured in 1897. The rifle is a saddle ring carbine. It looks like a previous owner put on a rifle length rear sight, with no elevator. The rear sight is so long it touches the receiver and wouldn’t allow for an elevator. At least, that’s what it looks like to me. I’ve been trying to find out what a carbine sight for this age carbine looks like, but with no real luck. I would like to put a correct period sight on it to replace what I have. An actual vintage sight would be great, but I would even consider a replica, since I’m not sure the rifle has much value. I would post a picture of the gun and sight, but I’m not sure how to attach a picture on this forum.
