I bought another box of “junk” at the local auction house, and ended up with several sights

Please take a look and see if you can ID the one in the middle left of the picture.

According to the “Old Gunsights” book the top left is a Marbles 65 carbine sight, missing the external elevator.  The bottom one is a Mossberg S102 Sporting, and on the right is a Lyman 1A “DA”, missing the post/aperture.  The middle left one is unmarked, and sort of looks Marlin to me, but I really don’t know.

As an aside, if anyone has a 1A post they would part with for a reasonable price or possible trade, DM me.

What is the dovetail size? That will tell you what it fits as long as it hasn’t been filed down.

Hi Bob,

It is standard .375 3/8″, so it will fit all sorts of rifles.

John,

It helps to narrow down the search. From the picture it looks like a 22G for the model 54 according to the Winchester Component Parts Catalog of May, 1 1934

I think you’ve nailed it. The short little “widows peak” is quite unique.  Thanks!
