Hi Jay64-
Your rifle is a post-63 (push feed action) Model 70 Standard Rifle. The pre-64 Featherweight was dropped in 1964 and didn’t come back until the “New Featherweight” until 1981.
The post-63 Model 70 changed the “standard” barrel contour (eliminating the rear sight barrel boss, etc. etc.). The Williams rear sight on your rifle looks correct to me…
Hope this Helps,
Lou

Hi Jay-
My knowledge of post-63 Model 70s is limited to what I can read in the last chapter of Roger Rule’s book…
According to Rule, in 1964 the sights used on Standard grade Model 70s were changed to a Williams Guide rear sight (screw-on), Williams front sight ramp (screw-on), and Williams front sight hood. The front sight itself was the same Winchester sight (103E) used on the later pre-64s.
In 1966 the front ramp was changed to an in-house manufactured powdered metal part. The Williams Guide rear sight was changed to an in-house design in 1978 when the “XTR” style changes were implemented.
Hope this helps,
Lou

Hi Chuck-
I assume you mean the D&T holes in the front/rear receiver ring (top) of a pre-64 Model 70?
If so, they’re 6-48. So are the receiver sight holes (receiver left side) and the barrel top holes on target/varmint rifles that came with scope blocks for target type scopes.
