OfflineGreg,
There is a sight called a Oat Sight but I think it was a front sight which no one I have talked to knows what it really is.

OfflineI checked my survey and the Oat sight is a front sight and the O.S. Rear is different. I have 5 guns with the O.S. Rear sight and they all are early first models.

OfflineGreg,
Is there any sign in the wear of of the finish or metal that there was another type of sight on it? If there is no other sign then it could be what Casey said since these were on very early 73’s
