I have read a lot on the Lyman sight because I was looking for one to fit my Winchester 1890 so much information out there it’s hard for me to absorb, my question is everyone talks about the patent dates all I can fine on the one I have is WS stamped on the bottom and Lyman stamped on the sight stem? did all of them have patent dates? Thanks for your help

No, they did not all have patent dates marked on them.  Sometime after WW I, Lyman stopped marking the patent dates on the sights.
