I found a Lyman tang sight in what I thought was a number of Marlin sights I purchased. On further inspection and Stroebel book I believe it to be a Model #1S Pat May 6, 84, 2nd variation (Pg 29). Fits a Win 1885?
I know little about Wins and only slightly more about Marlin 22’s which is my interest.
If someone would help me confirm this, it would be much appreciated.
Thanks,
Hank

Hi, need help.
Have 1885 hi wall produced in 1900. Not original. Much newer 32 win special barrel.
Two threaded holes in left side of receiver(different sizes).
Top hole is smaller diameter and further forward than lower hole.
Is there a receiver sight that fits this ?
Had a tang sight mounted at some point. Can see marks.
Screw spacing about 2 3/8″.
What tang sight would fit this ?
Just looking for a rear sight so I can try cast bullet shooting.
Thanks for any help you can give !

Any Lyman or Marbles tang sight with Winchester hole spacing will serve your purpose, the most common Lyman being the one coded DA for ’94s, such as this one now on ebay: 385421687094. An S coded sight will cost you about twice as much due to scarcity.
Lyman also made a rcvr. sight for the SS, but it required 4 screws. Must be some other make of sight, Pacific, etc., but easiest to find would be a tang sight.
