I’ve never seen a Lyman 21 with the slotted front mounting hole (at least on a Winchester). I’m not interested in this rifle but just thought it was a strange variation. Wondering what application code is on the back and if it belongs on a different rifle??

Seems like it’s been customized (modified). I doubt it was factory on this particular rifle. Maybe someone modified the sight to fit the frame of an 1892 at one time and now it’s found a home on this gun? Who knows?
