Very much like the front sights used on the Savage 1899 rifles.

Bob
Do you see many older Winchesters with this style of sight and shaped blade, or knife blade, specifically with the square edges of the base around the blade, like on this 1899:
The single sight in your first photo has the radius in the base where it meets the blade. I notice in the older WRACo catalogs they often show that type of base where it meets the blade. I don’t know a lot about them and I’m just curious what you have noticed on older Winchester rifles with these sights from the factory compared to some of the catalog illustrations. Thanks.

Brad,
I will have to take a look at my guns and sights tomorrow. I have never really looked that closely at the base of the sights.

Brad,
Here are a few pictures and all the Rocky Mountains have the rounded base and the knife blades have sharp corners.
The Rocky Mountain on the gun is nickel plated as well as the rear barrel sight. The gun letters nickel and engraved
This Knife blade on my 22 Extra Heavy letters as “German Silver Knife Blade”
