It makes a difference if its a carbine or rifle.

There are conflicting sight heights I find and some places say you can use a taller sight if you need too. I would start with a the .381 and see how it shoots.

Sorry fell’as for the confusion and double post. I was not thinking when I first posted the question about the height of the front sight and should have mentioned it is a rifle. Then this morning when I saw my mistake I inadvertently posted it again with the word “rifle” wanting to get the question back to you guys and was running late for work. Well here you go,, Winchester Model 1894 by the numbers made in 1907. 26″ octagon barrel, crescent butt plate, full magazine. Barrel measures right around eleven sixteenth of an inch across the flats at the muzzle. Chambered for the .25-35 cartridge. Thanks for the heads up on the front sight you guys have already mentioned. Now would anyone have one they would consider selling? I guess I will just have to start watching E- Bay. Thanks again. RRM
