Just inquiring if anyone has seen a rear carbine sight like this before. The back has a V notch but the elevation slide is a U notch which it should be(DOM 1926/1892 carbine 25–20). I do know it shoots amazingly accurate and very easy to pick up the front sight. Easier than any other I own. I’m assuming it’s not factory and added somehow.

Rick,

It looks like a standard 44A that somebody has added an extra (homemade) sighting piece to it.

Thanks Bert. Normally it would be coming off and replaced with another not modified but, it’s better than I could have imagined visually, and obviously set up by someone so I think it will be staying on!

I agree, some individual over filed the original notch and I believe I can see the base filed a little too from when they  got file happy . some persons fix was to add a taller piece with a smaller less filed notch.

I like it! Reminds me of the rear sight blade on an Aristocrat sight rib.

Yes I have to agree Jeremy but someone did a good job modifying it.

I like it also Mike. It’s my varmint gun so I will leave it on there.
