I have rifles with the rear sight elevation slides lower and some set higher. I realize distance is the consideration in slide elevation changes, but was there a certain caliber associated with the settings as well? Here’s a couple pics below of the difference of what I’m referring to.

OfflineWith a later sights with a adjustable notch you would use that to set your point blank elevation or what ever range you wanted with the load your using.
