Guys need your knowledge again.
I have a .32-20 that came with marbles front an rear sights, to fine for my eyes.
I have replaced the rear with a correct ladder sight and a homestead reproduction front sight.
my question’s are the front sight seams really tall , I assume I have to file it down ? What height should it be from the mounting pin to the top of the sight ?

Can anyone please measure the height of an original 32-20 carbine front sight blade ?
my replacement is shooting 8” low at 25 yds
Hello Dean,
According to Pirkle’s book on the 1886 and 1892 rifles on page 181 he says the front sight is 21/64 ths or .32815 inches high. I hope this helps.
