Just wondering if front sites that are copper are common on the 1873 ?

No they are not. I have only come across one in the records that letters copper front. Have you lettered the gun?  What style of sight is it. Now its common for sight blades to be replaced in the field when they fell out. A 21 front was just pinched in the base and you see guns with the insert slide forward or back from getting hit.

Thanks Bob ! So its not original then dam lol. It was a very old blade change then as it looks like it’s well done imo. Is there any value in it ?
