OfflineI had another US marked M1897 and like the dummy I am, I sold it. It was a very nice specimen. Went to my Lawyer buddy in Calif. He probably still has it. I offered him my minty WW2 Trenchgun for it and he turned me down. So, I am stuck with it for the time being. I don’t collect US militaria any longer, but this shotgun came up for a little over $2,000, and I could not turn it down.
I didn’t keep much of my military collection but for a Garand, couple carbines, M1911A1 Colt, a 03-A3, and a papered USMC M1903.
Now its S&Ws, and Winchester 22’s mainly. Sure wish I had that WW1 Trenchgun back. 2nd best looking Winchester I ever owned. Big Larry
