I recently bought a Winchester Model 1200 28 inch barrel. The serial # starts with a L and I have been told it was made somewhere between 1968 and 1975. The finish on it is not a shiny blue finish it’s like a satin finish. Did they do a satin type finish back then or could it have been refinished? Photos of finish in reply below.

Appears to be the standard finish for that period.

John, I don’t have any close up pics of my 1200, but I have added two more below. The finish on the receiver is typical Winchester color…bright, smooth, and blue, but the metal finish on the sides has somewhat of a brushed surface. Hope this helps:
