Not much collector interest to my knowledge but I’m a trap shooter and bring mine out when I’m feeling nostalgic. It’s a beautiful gun and shoots quite well. I probably paid a bit too much for it @ around $1100 but it’s in very good condition with beautiful wood.

I don’t shoot my Model 12 Y Trap gun very often but I love the way that full choke powders clay targets. I did have to replace the recoil pad but Brownell’s has one that looks like the original red rubber Winchester pad. I know a very good trap shooter that shot one for years and probably still takes it to shoots as a backup.
Did you buy it?
I own two Y series guns, skeet and trap. Beautiful wood on both of them. I mostly shoot skeet and have many straights with that one. Bought the trap gun new in box years ago at the OGCA show in Cleveland for $800. Skeet gun came used but 99.9 % from another show for $750. I know the pre ’64 guns bring more money, but the Y’s I have both shoot and look great!

I recently purchased a Y model 12. Can’t find date of manuf. I believe it was probably from the 70’s can anyone confirm that?
Yes, it probably was. A complete serial number would help narrow it down a bit.
