I have a model 12 28 gauge that was made in December 1936. It is stamped 28 on the back of the receiver when its stock is removed, its shell stop is angled and stamped 28 and its magazine tube is “crimped.” 12 28s are the only 12s with said slide stop and crimped mag tubes.
It has a 26” cylinder choke barrel and its chamber is 2 7/8. Any other identifying ares to determine its legitimacy(real vs fake)?
I know it’s real but how do I convince a potential buyer?
Thank you in advance!

Since Cody apparently only has serialization records it will be difficult to prove. Some pics of the stampings on the barrel and the serial numbers would possibly help sort out obvious fakes but this is one of those cases where there’s no substitute for a hands-on exam by someone with an experienced eye. Sounds like an awesome skeet gun!
