I was offered a Winchester Model 101 Pigeon Grade XTR Featherweight SN PK483503E it comes in the original leather and cloth case with engraved outdoors small game scene on a French grayed (silver) receiver. Doesn’t look like this shotgun was shot and if it was not much. He’s asking $800.00 cash. I noticed Made is Japan stamped into the barrel which almost immediately turned me off. After sleeping on it, I’m wondering if $800.00 is a good deal I see them going for over $1000.00 on GunBroker. Any thoughts?

I’d probably be very interested in it at that price even though I generally use Brownings for clay targets. I don’t think there’s much collector interest in these guns.

Hi Mike, I was thinking the same thing when I saw the Made in Japan stapped on the side. The more I think about it, the more I think I want a M1 Garand more because I want to join the CMP shoots at the range where I work as an RSO. Still, $800 is not a bad price and my bed is I could get him down to $700 or 750.
Thanks for your thoughts.

The Japanese made 101’s exhibit very good workmanship as do the Japanese Brownings.
