How unusual is a 28″ barrel 1897 with Cylinder choke?  In the older catalogs there doesn’t seem to have been a 28″ Cylinder choke listed… only 26″.

Hello Roger,

It would have been a special order to get a 28-inch barrel with a CYL barrel.  The Model 1897 was standard as follows;

30-inch barrel & 32-inch barrel – FULL choke

28-inch barrel – MOD choke

26-inch barrel – CYL (most of the 26-inch guns were Brush Guns, with a 1/2″ shorter LOP).
