It would have been a special order to get a 28-inch barrel with a CYL barrel. The Model 1897 was standard as follows;
30-inch barrel & 32-inch barrel – FULL choke
28-inch barrel – MOD choke
26-inch barrel – CYL (most of the 26-inch guns were Brush Guns, with a 1/2″ shorter LOP).
