I am trying to find out information regarding my deceased husband’s Winchester 101, 12 gauge over/under shotgun. Serial number 84585. I know he bought it in the 1960’s and it was made in Japan. I believe it is more a field gun and he used it all the time when we were hunting – especially for pheasant and ducks. He absolutely loved that gun. Is there anything else I should know about it? I would like to “dismantle” it and clean it up — any suggestions? [email protected]. Thanks

Lots of videos on youtube, but disassembly is simple without tools. Take care with the forearm removal. Once disassembled, release pressure on the release lever by pushing down on the piece on inside of the receiver.
