OfflineHello all,
I just bought two 37’s 16 ga and a 20 ga. I was told they were part of a set..?? The 16 has a Number 3 stamped behind the trigger guard the 20 ga has a Number 2. (Stampings look to be factory) Does anyone have any knowledge of the 37s sold as sets and numbered?
Thanks in advance,
Mitch

OfflineHello Mitch,
Winchester did not apply serial numbers on the Model 37. The single digit numbers you are seeing are inspector stamps. Every Model 37 shotgun manufactured has a single or double digit marking in that same location. The stamped digits can be numbers and/or letters. You were sold a “story” about them being a “set”.
