Hi guys! I’m new to the group, I just purchased my first model 12 and now I’m hooked! So I purchased a 1912 with 2 barrels, a 20″ riot and a field. All 3 have the same serial number, 958433. The receiver and the barrel have an odd stamp. It looks like a flaming bomb, but it has a “w” above the bomb. I tried to find out what it is, but no avail. My local ffl said sometime they’re fake or added later. I hope I didn’t get scammed. I’m trying to post pictures but its not letting me. Any information would be greatly appreciated thanks justin

Hello Justin,
You have to be a WACA member to directly upload & post pictures. You can upload them to a photo hosting service website and then post tHE URL to them here.
Based on your limited description, it appears that at least some of the parts are faked. S/N 958433 is a Model “12” that was manufactured in April 1942. None of the extra barrel assemblies should be marked Model “1912”.

Justin,
The markings stamped on the receiver frame and barre just above the factory Proof Marks (the superposed “W” “P” in an oval) are positively fake markings. I have doubts that both barrel assemblies are original to the gun. Can you post a picture of the serial number marking on both barrels (side-by-side)?
