I was at a shop yesterday, and they had one of the cleanest ’97 Riot guns that I have ever seen. Bluing, wood, and mechanics were all original and super-nice! They knocked 150.00 off the price, which brought it down to 550.00. I already have a decent one, but it has a repair to the stock wrist, and was not as nice as the one that I held yesterday. I passed it up, thinking it better to invest in other Winchesters. I did buy a nice Model 50 12 gauge for 200.00, because I didn’t have one of those. It shoots fast and smooth. Now, should I go back for the ’97 12 gauge?
Run back and get it! $550 for an original high condition Model 97 riot gun is a bargain. If it’s a 95% condition original riot gun, it could be worth 3 to 4 times the asking price even if it’s a late production gun. An early production gun would be worth even more, IMO.

Thanks!!! I’m off Monday, and y’all just talked me into it!! It’s not a Trench Gun, but a Riot model. I wouldn’t say that it’s 95%, but at least 85% or maybe better. Will post pictures when I get it.
