I have a chance to buy a model 12 16 gauge shotgun, it looks to be in very good condition, its serial number is 626864 I think this puts it around the 1930 year manufacture date, my question is was this vintage year considered a good year, I do plan on using it hunting let me know if I should know more about this particular year model 12
The serial number identifies it as a 1929 production gun. As such, it should have a 2-3/4″ chamber (marked on the barrel). Accordingly, as long as it is in good mechanical condition, it should be perfectly fine to hunt with… but not with steel shot loaded shells.
