Glad I found you folks!
I have a model 42 my father left me when he passed two years ago and I am having difficulty figuring out what I have. The serial number matches and is 10091. It is stamped “skeet” and has an 18 ring standard front fore stock with a checkered rear stock. There is a cutts choke on it and the threads to attach the choke are unusual in that they do not match the blues barrel color. Could be powder burn not sure. I have additional chokes that came with it.
Local gun dealerships have told me different things with one telling me the front ring stock doesn’t match the rear checkered stock as it should on a “Skeet” version. Or maybe the barrel was changed out… I am not sure of any of these opinions and extremely confused LOL
I am planning on selling it and any information on this gun is much appreciated. I can upload photos if needed and permission granted. Dad left me several guns and I have decided to part with this one and do not want to miss represent it in any way. I have no idea of the value nor where to sell it at as local shops and pawn shops tell me different things.
Thanks for any input and advise.
