I am looking at another hand me down and wondering what to do with it (I am not going to sell it, but am thinking clean up vs let it alone and use it or don’t use it). Its a model 41, all original, nothing missing or broken, 85%-90% of the barrel and receiver surface is blue (but has light rust / dusting of very small bumps but not pits along the wood line of the barrel). The wood finish is very worn and may have been refinished long ago as there is what appears to be a run on the grip. It has no debts, gouges or cracks. Mostly the finish is rubbed thin or occasionally rubbed off in small spots. I am guessing that as is its worth $300-$400. I can disassemble it and lightly clean the bolt, barrel etc and lightly clean the wood with a damp cloth (maybe a drop of Palmolive soap to help) then dry it. I want to use it occasionally but have a large number of other guns so its not critical. Alternatively, I can strip the wood and apply boiled linseed oil. If it is worth meaningfully more than I am thinking, I would simply clean it per above or as recommended and not even use it.
Thanks
