Hello. I’m new to the site but was wondering if anyone could tell me why the model 25 isn’t listed in the choices for finding out the date of manufacture. I have a model 25 12 ga 2-3/4 inch. Serial number 45XXX. If anyone can tell me when this gun was made I’d appreciate it.

Thanks.

Robert,

The Model 25 is not listed in the look-up table because the Cody Firearms Museum does not have any of the original Winchester records for them. Based on the information I have access to, the Model 25 production was authorized in late December 1947, with the first guns delivered to the warehouse in March of 1949. Production ended in 1954 with a listed production total of nearly 88,000 guns. The production run lasted just 6-years.
