I have a 12ga. Model 1912 standard field grade, ser. #149XXX,( Nickel Steel – Mod. 1912 – 12ga. Full ) markings on barrel but no chamber length.
Do all the early 12ga. models have a 2 3/4” chamber?
Yes they do. As did all of the Model 1897 12-ga guns.

OfflineMany thanks Bert! I thought the same but wanted to ask an expert.
Reason I ask is that I’m having trouble with empty shells hanging in the ejection port. I don’t see a problem with the extractor and I thought if it did have a shorter chamber the ejection port might also be slightly shorter than that of the port for a 2 3/4” chamber.

Most likely a weak or worn ejector spring.

If there was a gunsmith worth their salt in my area I’d get it looked at. Unfortunately, good, trustworthy gunsmiths are hard to find. Especially where I live.
