Hey everyone, I’ve been a fan of the 1897’s for a while and got my first true 1897. After having a few nornicos. This is an interesting 1897 that is marked LPPD and seems to check out with the choke and 20 inch barrel. I have a couple of questions on it. How many of these police riot shotguns have the bayonet lug ? Has anyone seen an LPPD marked 1897 before ? I think the only city that makes sense is La Place TX, this is going off of population and looking for L and P in the names. I’m going to try to post a video later today with the markings.

What is the serial number?  Does it have a ventilated heat shield mounted on the barrel?

If you can, please send pictures of the gun (to include all of the markings found on the gun) to me via email – [email protected]

My 1943 Winchester M97 Trenchgun has a very small JPD 6 professionally stamped into the pistol grip. One would hardly notice it. The shotgun itself is drippy mint. I am quite sure it was never used in the military or any PD. Anyone have a clue who JPD is?  Big Larry
