I received a solid frame 1897 (D series) this week and disassembled it to clean and lube the gun. It had a good bit of crud in the gun and now is all lubed and cleaned. I did not have any issues with the disassembly. After reassembling the gun I now have two issues:
1. The bolt is hard to cycle forward. It moves about 1.2-1″ then sticks. After looking to see what is the issue it seems when I press down on the bolt it will move forward easily. It seems to me the hammer is pressing up to hard on the bolt and causing it to stick in one spot. Does anyone know what is causing this issue? I did not change anything when I disassembled the gun, only cleaned it. I did not take the hammer or carrier apart.
2. I am trying to take the gun back apart to try and remedy the problem listed above and now I can’t get the action bar out. I do not see where it is bent and everything seems to be working fine but it will not come free. I have taken the magazine tube off but still no luck. I tried to take either the carrier or bolt out but no luck. Any ideas on how to get the action bar out? When I first disassembled the gun it came out fine. It is currently working fine (other than the issue above)
Any advice will be greatly appreciated!
