Is it possible that a gold plated trigger on a model 12 is factory original?

Possible… Yes. Likely… definitely not, especially if it an otherwise plain gun.

Welcome to the Forum.  The only gold trigger shown in the fine Dave Riffle Model 12 Book is shown on pages 114 & 115.  Listed under “Special Ornamentation for Winchester Model 12” on page 188 is “Gold Plated Trigger  $10.00”.  Hope this will help.  RDB
