I have noticed the prices for Dave riffle book on model 12s have gone through the roof. What has drove these prices to such levels? Like to hear your thoughts.

eBay has 3 right now and the bids begin at 200 and run to 675. Abebooks begins at 1k and goes to 1795.00 it was a 55.00 2 years ago. Kind of a jump.

That price increase phenomenon is positively not limited to Dave Riffle’s book.  It has happened to nearly all of the better Winchester reference books that are now out of print.

It’s amusing that I built my reference library in part to make better buying decisions and it turns out some were better investments than many of the Winchesters I purchased. I don’t know what Riffle’s Model 12 book is going for today but it will always have a place in my library even though I’m not especially interested in the Model 12.

One copy sold for $177.50 plus $8.00 shipping (and then there’s sales tax) on eBay  on 18 January.  It seems cheap compared to what some of these other books are bringing.

How much was it new in 1995?
