My Father passed away earlier this year and I can’t keep ALL of his guns. Ar age 54, I have my own collection. I am keeping about 10 of his 60+ collection. I am selling the rest by on line auction to help pay his creditors.

I was delighted to discover and join this active forum. I could use some help with this model 42.  4 digit serial pops out 1933 manufacture on the Winchester lookup page. I’ve read several other stories about 42’s and their values.

This old girl has a few scratches but her blue is deep an not ‘worn’. I vaguely remember that I put a box of shells through it at a dove shoot in 1976. I do not think it’s been fired since.

Pleas have a look and help me with a value? Like others have posted, I am seeing a price range of $1k to $5k and I have an estate to execute. Thanks.
