My solid frame E series riot gun seems to have lost it’s firing pin lock spring. The gun functions fine and I have had no problems. I just noticed this when I compared it to two other 97’s I own. Is this an unsafe condition? Obviously, I never lower the hammer on a live round.

I don’t know if it’s unsafe without it, but I’d install one.  New ones can be had for about $3.00, and vintage ones can be found sometimes on places like eBay for $10.00.
