Looking for advice on 1905 D 20 Inch Cylinder Bore Riot gun. Is it common to have different finishes from barrel and mag tube?

What is the serial number on your Model 1897?
In answer to your question about the finish, both the barrel and magazine tube should be a high-polish rust blued. It appears that the magazine tube on your gun has been replaced (or refinished).
Can you post (or send me) a clear picture showing the factory marking on the slide bar and the barrel?

Hi Bert, thanks for the quick response. SN is 310929 making it a 1905 or 1906 I believe. Has the steel buttplate, CYL bore, roll marks seem crisp, screw slots don’t seem to be molested extremely.
