Thank you in advance for any information on a 12 ga black diamond trap gun serial number D 36683x it has a 30 inch barrel and appears to be original condition about 80% bluing. The stock may have been cut for a recoil pad or a replaced pad added. I have pictures but do not know how to add them. Please let me know what date of manufacture is and any other information available.

Based on the partial serial number you mention, the gun was manufactured sometime in April 1907. You can (for a modest fee) get a factory letter for it from the Cody Firearms Museum (CFM) records office that will provide the date it was serialized (manufactured), the date that it entered the warehouse from the factory, the date that it shipped (sold), the order number it shipped to, and the as built configuration of the gun.
