I have an 1887 that functions ok but the lever won’t stay up. Any help would be appreciated.

I have never worked on an 1887 but maybe these will help you.

Watch the videos and see if something looks different with your gun.

This is the first one I’ve ever worked on. I made a new hinge pin for it because the old one was badly worn. That helped it a lot but it still drops down about a quarter inch when I let go of the lever. The bottom of the trigger is broken off but I don’t know if that has anything to do with anything.

If anyone is interested, I have copied all the screws on this 10 gauge and will be offering them for sale on eBay and Gunbroker. I don’t know which screws will interchange with the 12 gauge but figure the action screws will be the same.
