I’m wanting some 45-60 ammo if anyone would happen to have some shooter quality rds they are willing to part with. I’ve exhausted all retail sources including my recent conversation with Steve at Load-X who informed me possibly late mid year for availability.

Have you tried Aarvark Laboratories, Glen Anderson out of Cape Coral, Florida. 630-957-7999. I see him at Tulsa and he advertises in our magazine.

Otherwise it’s easy to load, cut a 45-70 case to 1.87, 300gr bullet, and a little 3031. You can buy an old Winchester tool and load your own. T/R

I had not tried Aardvark yet, I was thinking they were no longer in business from a previous attempt, I will try them.

Is it necessary to reduce case mouth wall thickness? Otherwise it appears there are only slight discrepancies in dimension comparison.

I may try that if I can’t find a dozen or so proper rounds.

Thank you TR

He was set up at Tulsa in November. His add was in the last issue of the magazine. No issues with the 45-70 brass, they are both straight wall cartridges. Just cut to length, I  use a case trimmer. T/R

Get a case trimmer and some empty 45 70 cases and  you’re in business. You could probably use 45 70 dies for loading. Super easy round to load for.
