Anybody shooting this cartridge? I’ll be shooting 250 gr gas checked lead bullets. I have 3031, 4831, 4227 and 5744 to work with.

I have used 3031 at about 44 grains.  Mike Venturino says 42 to 46 but I think 46 was too hot for me.

Thanks Chuck. In Williamson’s book he has a 3031 load for a cast gas checked 250gr bullet at 45grs. @ 2349 feet per sec. That seems a little hot to me. I was thinking a 10% drop in that load and seeing how it shoots. Something like 1900 fps or so. Original ammo seems to have been loaded with 46grs of 3031 with a jacketed 250gr bullet. I’ll have to pick up Venturino’s book, I don’t have that one yet.

Mike, I was getting around 2100fps.  You need to be at about 41/42 grains to get 1900 Fps.

Excellent, 42 seems reasonable.  I have to get my grubby paws on the gun first. Ships Monday…..
