OK, first question. No serial # on the lower tang but # 5122 is stamped in the stock just rear of the tang. Surely not refinished, patent date is loud and proud.
Barrel measures 24 1/4″ with no caliber stamp. It is a 22 LR. Pic shows LR VP on bottom of barrel. Thinking barrel has been set back possibly because of the missing caliber stamp and the “extra dovetail”? The barrel has an absolutely beautiful bore and I can see no reason to shorten it unless it was to better balance the rifle.
Who manufactured the front sight?
I’m into it for $700.

Suggests the trigger was replaced for some reason.
