That is a dandy mess for sure. I really like the detailed description. NRA horrible fits well!

$5,429.99 for that gem. All I can say is, ‘awesome’.

Makes me wonder how much Cabelas actually paid for this hunk ‘o junk.  Maybe I should quit my job and start buying scrap guns and sell them to Cabelas…

Pretty bad, especially considering his condition descriptions don’t mention the modifications, reblue and refinish.

I will give the seller credit on this… at least this rifle doesn’t come with the “original Winchester box and paperwork”, along with a creative story about an old man who passed away, leaving a huge collection of new-in-the-box rifles to children who had no interest in or knowledge of guns.  That song and dance is wearing pretty thin over on Gunbroker.

That’s funny.  I bet everyone on this form knows exactly the Gunbroker seller you are referring to.

Somebody wore out a perfectly good buffing wheel on this rifle. Poor old rifle is wrong on so many levels I suspect the buyer will learn a very expensive lesson. Funny thing, I’ve spent a good bit of time at my local Cabela’s and it wouldn’t surprise me if it sold. Manager here says he’ll put something truly odd in the case and eventually someone will show up and say he’s been looking for that exact gun.
