I’ve only seen them in books and have never encountered or seen one in person. Does anyone on here actually have one in their collection?

Don,
I have seen three of them (I don’t own any of them). The S/Ns are usually in the 60,000 – 70,000 range.

Thanks Bert. Were these only offered in the 1894? Did the Armax break these down in their survey?

To the best of my knowledge Extra Steel was only used for the Model 1894, and for just a very short time. The ARMAX makes no mention of Extra Steel barrels, nor were they listed in any of the period Winchester catalogs.
