Interested in finding out the value of a Winchester model 53, solid frame, 44/40 cal, low 3 digit serial #, in 80/85 % condition…… Anyone have an idea of where to look or know the value…

The first all of are going to want to see is a series of clear detailed pictures of your Model 53 rifle. It is very uncommon to find and original Model 53 rifle with 80-85% of its original finish still intact (not impossible, just very uncommon).

Bert,

I just saw your comment on the ’53 with 80-85 % condition being “scarce”. I bought one from Leroy Merz over 10 years ago with minor flaking, with little to no use. The current price guides, in my opinion, way undervalue these Winchesters, as only around 15,000 were made. Well, the market is the market.
