Kevin, thanks for taking responsibility. I’ve been concerned about posting the buttplate photos because it is not yellow as it appears (I’m thinking of recent threads about color case hardened restorations.). But I am amazed that the buttplate colors have remained as vivid as they are considering the age of the rifle (1891), the handling marks on the wood, the expected flecks of rust on blued surfaces, and the fading of the colors on the hammer and lever. I suppose the hammer and lever colors faded due to handling over the years. BK
