Just acquired this from fathers estate.  Sportsman – no rings.  Great shape, wondering what value might be.

Hello Beemer,

Based on the serial number the rifle was manufactured during 1911.  I believe you are referring to a “sporting rifle” configuration which would have a round octagon or half round/half octagon shaped barrel.  We will need more information about and photos of the rifle in order to determine the potential value.   The potential range can be thousands of dollars and little things are deductions of hundreds.  You can post the photos here or send them to me in an email at [email protected]   You might also find this informative:

I do not have it in hand yet. 

i have to go pick it up in the next couple of weeks.  I have 1 picture but it is not close enough to provide any real info.  It has been years since I saw it in person.  I will post pictures once I have it in hand.
