I have inherited a Model 1892. 44 Calibre. Oct Barrel with half length magazine. Serial Number 18057
Underside of the stock is :
MODEL 1892
-WINCHESTER-
PAT. OCT.14.1884.
It is stored in a gun safe in New Zealand, waiting to be resorted.
New Zealand has just declared all rifles with greater than 10 round magazine capacity prohibited weapons which need to be handed over.
I really need to know what the capacity is for the half length magazine please.

Hi Alsubs, fellow kiwi here. Your rifle holds just a few rounds so you have absolutely nothing to worry about with the incoming changes. FYI restoring the rifle will likely ruin any value it may have, they are best left as original as possible. Feel free to pm me if you need. Regards, wayne
