Hello
I inherited a Winchester 1890 pump plain stock 22 long serial #548528
The rear sight reads pat jan 29 1901 and underneath the gun reads pat may 30 1911 as the last patent.
My Grandfather used this rifle a lot on his farm in Minnesota for years
Any info would be great for my new family heirloom.
Thanks
TG

OfflineHello,
The markings you mention are completely normal, and the serial number indicates that it was manufactured in April of 1914. There is a very active collector interest in the Model 1890, and examples if high condition can bring very good prices.
