I need some information please.  I am considering a Win. 86 DLX in 33 and second barrel and magazine in 45-70.  Second set non serialized, gun comes back 1908, so no details on letter.  Very nice condition and patina matches both barrel sets.  Question is- Did Winchester make such a thing?  Is something like this worth as much as $10K

no pictures, so any info appreciated.

If the Factory letter makes no mention of the second barrels assembly, it is very unlikely that it is original to the rifle.

Hi Bert,

I was sitting with Bob Reed last week in Taylor Texas when a fellow showed up with this rifle.

Bob has mentioned you on several occasions.  Thanks for your quick response.  I know that anything generally nade after 1906 is just a shot in the dark on how it was originally made with almost no real detail.

Its pretty nice but I suspect the originality.

Andy,

Bob is one of those “true” gentlemen that I have had the great pleasure of knowing and talking with over the years in the “Winchester” community.  Hopefully we will all meet up again down the road.
