I have found a pretty nice and honest 1873 made in 1892 chambered in 32-20. Would it be safe to shoot modern cowboy loads through? The bore is pretty decent with minor pitting. Nothing rare about it or anything. Its just a standard 24″ octagon barreled rifle pretty much all brown. Beautiful walnut wood though, although very dark with age. Thanks

You would want it inspected by a gunsmith if your not up to the task but cowboy load are rather light loads and would be the safest to shoot in anything.
