Hi there,
I have a couple of Winchester 1866 rifles and I am looking for any factory paperwork or letters before selling these. After contacting Cody firearms they recommended I come here as the serial numbers fall out of their range. The serial numbers are:
121095
17440
Any help or recommendations would be greatly appreciated.

There is not much anyone can do for you. Cody is the only one that would have any kind of info and that would only be the configuration when it was made. Any providence would have to come from past owner. I have old survey information that would tell me where it would of been seen like at auctions or in publications but these serial numbers are not in it.

Like Bob said. Your early gun was made in 1868 and the other in 1874. If you send pictures to Bob he can post them here and we can tell you what we see. Unfortunately there are no records for your serial numbers.
